The site is situated in secluded fields along a farm track it is suitable for most cars and a hard standing carpark is on site. Saying that a daytime arrival would be easier to find the site & unpack. (wheatfields has no outside lighting so as to preserve the wonderful ‘dark sky’.
If one of your party is joining you later we offer a taxi service from Appledore station (5 mins drive away). Please contact Penny - 07831 328938 with a request.
A rushed last minute checkout can quickly undo a relaxing weekend Glamping. Our checkout time is at the later time of 11am just to give you that extra little bit of time to pack. Contact us if you would like the option of a later check out time we like to help if possible. 07831 328938.
We do ask however to return all furniture & fittings to their original positions & wash & tidy up & rubbish disposed of in the recycling bins provided by the carpark.
Any extra wood bought needs to be paid before leaving, please pay by cash and leave in the honesty box in the farm office in the yard.
Health & Safety
Wheatfields glamping site is set in a natural environment on a working farm. Please be aware that the ground is uneven and can be muddy in wet weather.
Please be aware that the farmyard is a busy place with farm machinery in use. Please do not wander or let your children or dogs wander around the yard.
Farm machinery will pass the site at times this will include tractors & trailers and during harvest our combine. Please keep young children and dogs away from the farm track.
Romney Marsh is kept above sea level by a system of ditches, dikes, and canals. Cliff Marsh Farm & The Wheatfields site is crisscrossed by this water system and has a natural pond by the camping site.
Each tent has a smoke detector, a carbon monoxide detector, and a fire extinguisher. There are two exits at the front and back of the tents
Children
Please supervise your children at all times especially around the ditches and pond. Be aware of the steep banks. Keep children away from the farm track which is used by moving farm machinery
We want your children to experience the freedom of the countryside, but safely.
Dogs
If you are bringing your dog please keep it near you at all times and be aware that large farm machinery will go along the farm track from time to time. Please do not leave your dog in the tent alone, it could become stressed and cause damage.
Wood & Fires
Please take care when using the cooker/hob, log burner, firepit & BBQ. Please use the fireguard provided if you have young children. Do not use the fireguard to dry clothes on. Use of a washing machine and tumble dryer is available on request in the event of very wet weather.
You will be provided with a basket of wood and kindling. Further packs can be purchased from the honesty box in the yard. Charcoal for the BBQ is also available.
Breakage/Damage
Please leave the accommodation tidy and let us know if anything gets broken, so we can replace it for our next guest. We will only charge for replacement in exceptional circumstances, as we expect a degree of wear and tear. If the damage is directly attributable to the guest, then we reserve the right to request payment up to £100 from the guest or to keep the security deposit paid on booking.
Security
Wheatfields is a remote site and as such security is unlikely to be an issue. To be on the safe side please leave any valuables locked away in your car.
Any personal property left behind will be returned to you if possible by post.
Pets
A maximum of two ‘well behaved’ dogs are very welcome for a charge of £25 each. Please don’t allow your dog to jump up onto or sleep on any of the chairs or beds. Noise
Wheatfields is in a remote setting but sound travels and we ask you for the sake of our neighbors, other guests & the wildlife to keep the sound down after 10am.
