Sandpiper, The Bell and Skylark

Wheatfields Glamping opened in April 2019 with just one luxury safari tent “Sandpiper” sleeping 8 people with an addition Bell Tent for larger family groups.

Sandpiper was refurbished in 2023 with the addition of glass French style doors replacing the canvas front and an outdoor kitchen.

“Skylark” followed in 2020. A larger tent also sleeping 8 but with more living and outdoor space. A hot tub now sits on the back deck.

The two tents are generously spaced apart making them ideal for two separate groups of guests but close enough for same family or friends to ‘Glamp’ together, sleeping 16+ both tents are proving to be very popular for celebrations and corporate retreats.

The tents are nestled around a pond on  our family run 500 acre working arable farm on the edge of Romney Marsh in the Rother Valley.

Large deck areas front and back offer alternative sitting options to enjoy the different views across the marsh or towards the stunning ancient cliff of the Isle of Oxney.

Both have their own outside kitchens with a gas BBQ/griddle and pizza oven. Large fire pits sit just outside each tent with logs suppled.

Stonewashed luxury bed linen is supplied on the double beds with lovely cotton linen for the twins and bunks Towels are also supplied.

The tents have their own bathrooms with a hot showers, basin and flushing toilet. Complimentary toiletries are supplied by local business WiDEYE who create their own natural skin and bodycare products. https://wideye.co.uk/ Visit their shop at 113 High St, Rye to see all the range.

The kitchens are fully equiped and have have gas hob, fridge and all the basic essentials; tea, coffee and cooking seasonings ec.

The living areas have large tables for everyone and comfy sofas to relax in front of the log burner complete with small oven.

To retain the amazing “Dark Sky” there are no outdoor lights used at Wheatfields. If you love star-gazing this is the place to be.

Wheatfields is off-grid. We use solar to power the fridge, interior lights and a USB charger. Gas heats the hot showers, and the kitchen basin and hob.

Both have their own car park area so guests can be totally independent with self check in available.
